July Favorites (+ NEW YouTube Video)

Hello everyone, and welcome back to styledbymckenz! Can you believe it’s already August?! I can’t. It saddens me to already be thinking about school starting and responsibilities slowly coming back in full force but I suppose I have a few weeks until I completely dwell on that idea. On the flip side of things, I am SO excited and proud to be sharing with you this news… I’m going to be posting every single day in August!!!! I have varied with how often I post each month over the last year and a half but have never tried to post every day, but with so many ideas and a drive like never before, I decided I’m going to give it a shot!

This month was partially super busy and stressful and partially super relaxed and nonchalant. The first half Madison and I were busy preparing blog posts so I wouldn’t have to be away from the blog while I was away. And the second half was spent in Wisconsin spending time at my grandparent’s house and our family farm. It was such a good month. My time in Wisconsin is always a time I cherish. I left for the beach today and will be back in a matter of days before heading home for good this summer! Anyway, I suppose now is the time to sit down and start sharing all my favorites with you.

My clothing choices were seriously all over the place this month especially due to the fact that I was away and living out of my suitcase for over half of it. So, I suppose as far as clothing goes, I really loved denim (shocker!!!) Specifically, my light wash pair of skinnies from American Eagle, these high-waisted shorts that I thrifted for $2.50, and my mom’s old overalls! I wore the heck out of these knock off Birkenstocks and my giant tortoise sunglasses from Michael’s; all these items being brought with me to Wisconsin. Honestly, there are not too many more specific items that I ‘loved’ this month but above are obviously a few of my favorite outfits (look at all those mules!!!)

I could dish out a few makeup products that I loved this month but I’d be lying if I did. I wore makeup maybe three times this month, however, I did buy some makeup this month while away because makeup is always cheaper in Wisconsin. The only makeup product I am going to include is the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation. I bought it while away and used it once. Despite it being just a tad too dark I really loved the formula and look forward to using it more in the month of August.

As far as my Bible goes, this month I have been reading Luke. Last month I mentioned having wanted to start a new book in my Bible in order to ensure a bit of stability into my nightly reading and it worked for a while, but I will admit that while I was away I did a bit of scattered reading here and there and ended up discovering this old page that I journaled a while back. It’s words and meaning to me matched perfectly with the beauty of the nature that surrounded me at the time.

I always share with you what I’ve been up to in terms of Netflix watching and right now I am watching The Secret Life of an American Teenager. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes over the last few weeks because the wifi at my grandparent’s house doesn’t load Netflix too well; but so far, I am really loving the show! While away we listened to a lot of decade playlists but my favorites were by far the 60s and 70s; they are just so fun and make my heart happy when listening to them.

Each month I also like to set aside a portion of my post to talk about my monthly goals. Once again I did not meet my goal for blog subscribers. I’m starting to wonder about that because I used to gain followers and followers each day and now it seems like I’m lucky if I get one a week. I’m not quite sure why so in August I am going to be doing quite a bit of investigating and then once again try and reach 1,800 followers. I did meet my Instagram goal but then my numbers dipped back down while I was on vacation so I am going to set my August goal at 2,450 followers for Instagram.Alright, that’s all for now.
