So I’ve Been Buying Some Things Recently… Collective Haul

I know I know, I said I was going to slow my role on the shopping this time of year and possibly even revert back to the shopping ban that I did last year at this time. However, sales and opportunities have both presented themselves… therefore, I just couldn’t resist passing up and let’s just say that’s how we ended up here today.

In order to make myself at least a slight bit less guilty for my recent purchases, I decided it would only be fit for me to share with you my latest purchases and style them into a few outfit ideas. This way, hopefully, you too can find something you like or at least grab a little bit of that mid-winter outfit inspiration.

Oh yea, by the way, today’s post is everything I’ve received or purchased since the New Year… so don’t get too upset with me, I haven’t completely gone crazy.

One of the first things I purchased after the New year was a pair of navy and black sneakers. They have a bit of height to them and are rather narrow for the average sneaker. They look incredible with an athleisure look and are totally taking me out of my comfort zone with the navy and black color mixing. I happened to have a gift card, coupon code and got an additional percentage off making these total out to $12. A complete steal, I know! I also found these adorable espadrilles for the springtime and they were almost 80% off. I cannot remember exactly what these totaled out to be but it was definitely under $10- which again made these a must-have. I wore them yesterday for the first time as the weather was a bit warmer than usual and was in love + received so many compliments!

A local thrift store in town was having a ‘stuff as much as possible into a brown paper bag for $20’ sale and Madison, Lily and I jumped right at the offer. I scored a couple funky jackets and an adorable pair of pants that I cannot wait to wear here on the blog.

I happened to take a trip to New York City in January and had to take advantage of the huge Old Navy in Time’s Square. They were having some awesome sales so I was able to pick up these two velvet tank tops for under $3 each and a cute pair of leggings to go with my New Balance sneakers. These were also on clearance which of course made both my closet and wallet happy.

A fun, late Christmas gift came in the mail a couple of weeks after the New Year from my cousin Jessica. She gifted me the best hat ever- this navy one with a huge puff-ball on it from the brand CC. After wearing hers for a weekend when I went up to visit her, I knew I needed one for myself. Acute keychain that my aunt had saved for me as well was sent, and my heart feel oh so happy!

My dad and I went venturing out to my favorite TJ Maxx the other day and he was the best person ever for giving me a little bit of cash to shop with. I picked up everything off of final clearance for a total of under $30 which was a major score. These leggings have black star embellishments on them and look perfect with my new sneakers and this cropped black velvet hoodie from Calvin Klein is a must not only for athleisure wear but for a casual weekend look. I was stoked to find this crushed velvet jumpsuit for $6. It fit like a glove and made me feel oh so funky. I’m thinking about wearing this in my school’s fashion show next week as it’s the perfec piece to boost your confidence.

My last set of goodies is from Travelon. They were super sweet and sent a super generous package for Wednesday’s post and a few upcoming projects. Not only did they gift me this gorgeous blue backpack from my latest video, but they also sent over a cardholder and a couple of luggage tags. My most favorite piece though was definitely the navy anti-theft backpack that is perfect for traveling and can even fit my laptop (major excitement!) Considering all the weekend trips we’ve been making to New York lately, I know that this will be perfect for a road trip!

Oh yes, I almost forgot! My mom is the sweetest and gets us something small and thoughtful each year as a Valentine’s Day gift. She got me this cute workout tank that reads ‘never stop setting goals’ and the perfect maroon velvet baseball cap for those days when I just cannot be bothered to wash my hair. There was also a cute tassel keychain in the bag that will look adorable on my keys. She was so sweet and I cannot wait to put these pieces to use! Thank you again, mom! xx
