North Carolina Travel Diary

The only thing I love more than a week of relaxing is a week of relaxing at the beach. My family was so fortunate to have been able to take a short little trip to my sister’s boyfriend’s beach house down in the Outer Banks of North Carolina this past week. Their house is absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere down there is just amazing.

My family has traveled to the Outer Banks several times before so our daily routine was pretty standard but after receiving such positive feedback from my NYC Travel Diary and my Wisconsin Travel Diary I decided I might as well go ahead and wrap up this short little vacation as well as any future travels I may have.

On Tuesday morning I woke up after my only day home from Wisconsin and headed straight to an early morning doctors appointment with an already packed car and passengers ready and waiting to hit the road.

Once my appointment was over we made our way down to North Carolina. We made such good time that we were able to sneak a couple of hours in at the beach just relaxing and napping (guilty lol). We headed home and showered up before eating my favorite meal ever (TACOS!) and then heading out to explore some, get a few groceries, and stop for my first ever Frosty from Wendy’s… talk about a life milestone, right?!!

Wednesday, I made sure to set an alarm so I wouldn’t sleep my morning away because your girl loves her beach time. Popped on a cute kini and headed to the water where I chatted with my momma, read my awful book for school, and swam through the waves. I mean common… what day sounds better than that?!

Madison and her boyfriend, Colton really wanted to watch the sunset from the dunes so my mom and I made our way there with them but if we’re keeping things real, we got tired and left to do a little shopping across the street lol. That pretty much sums up my mine and my mom’s relationship haha.

We also discovered that they have Scrabble at Colton’s house which if you’ve been keeping up with my recent posts you would know is my new-found love. We played for hours while Friends was on that night.

Thursday we got up and did the same thing because there’s certainly no way I’d ever waste my precious time while at the beach! Today I finished my not so good book, read some awesome magazines (shout out to the 10 cent magazine section at my Grandma’s library; I miss it already), laid out for hours, and took some pictures while I had the chance.

We went out to dinner tonight and I got the best buffalo chicken tenders ever, y’all. Like seriously they were amazing. I also wore my favorite dress ever for all the beachy vibes and we did a bit of strolling around the cute little shops they had there. We got some ice cream and after a bit headed home for you guessed it… more Scrabble!!!! Hahahha I’m like an old lady or something.

Friday was our last day at the beach due to needing to be back early Saturday morning for cheer so we wanted to make the most of our last day. Everyone woke up early and got into their bathing suits only for it to start raining. We made the most of it playing in the rain and taking some cute pictures in the meantime before heading to the beach for a couple of hours when the sun finally decided it wanted to peek out.

Unfortunately, then it was time to pack up and start heading home but not before we shopped around in the little town of Duck. It was lots of fun but so sad to know that our vacation was coming to end.

It’s the things like spontaneous beach trips to a cute little house that I’ll remember forever. I had such a good few days with my favorite people + I got super tan so that’s always good too. (,:
