Summer To Fall Transition

Welcome back, friends! Today I’m sitting down to chat about those awkward few weeks… yep, you know the ones. Where it’s hot outside but you’re craving those fall styles. I’m sharing a handful of my favorite pieces to help me transition from summer to fall as well as a couple of outfit ideas!

Pieces that are perfect for the transition

• Something suede – I talked all about the faux suede dress and how perfect the material was! If it’s too hot to switch out of your summer pieces, try reaching for something with a fun texture or a different material!
• A denim mini – I talk all the time about how essential a denim mini skirt is. It can easily be transitioned from season to season and is a much cuter option than denim shorts which scream ‘summer’ still.
• Light long sleeves – It’s too hot for turtlenecks and sweater still. Reach for a lighter long sleeved top and pair it with a cute skirt!
• Play with proportions – Proportions are necessary throughout the transition weeks so if you’re going longer on top, stick with something shorter on the bottom.
• A good pair of booties – Switching from sandals to boots can be tricky. I picked up and shared the cutest cut out booties from Target that will for sure be on repeat these next few months. They are the perfect chestnut color too which totally screams fall!
• Floppy hat – The accessory that can easily save an outfit. I wear mine as often as possible, especially on the blog. Snag one to instantly transform your fall wardrobe.
• The Saddle Bag – I tend to switch out my crossbody for something a little bit darker. My black saddle bag is one of my favorites for the fall! Super cute and fits all the necessities.
• Gold Statement Earrings – Something I wore all summer long and will definitely be transitioning into my fall wardrobe. I love gold jewelry as it looks awesome with the warmer tones of these months.

A closer look at the outfit ideas

This suede dress is everything. It’s super comfy and easy to wear yet instantly creates an outfit in itself. I popped on my floppy hat for the main accessory and threw on a classic pair of block heels to coordinate with my favorite fall crossbody. So cute yet still allows your body to breathe throughout the hot afternoons of August.

A cute embroidered tank paired perfectly with some classic skinnies. These brown booties looked adorable with the colors in the tank and gold statement jewelry easily completed this easy yet stylish outfit idea.
